‘Old Time’, looks at the oral story telling tradition as performance within Australian culture. The performer, Campbell Irving lives as an old fashioned raconteur, an Australian ‘swagman’, telling stories and poems to earn a humble living on the road. In the video he recites from his repertoire, an anonymous poem from the early 1900’s called ‘How the Sailor Rode the Brumby’…
Angelica Mesiti is a video, performance and installation artist based in Sydney and Paris. Angelica’s works use cinematic frameworks and performance to re-tell histories and reconfigure conventional truths. Central to her approach is an interest in responding to the particularities of a given location, its history, environment and communities.
